The National Monuments Service's description

See TS061-021001- for full description. The limestone plaque (TS061-021001-) currently located at Meldrum House (TS061-021002-) is likely to have come from Meldrum Castle (TS061-56001-) which lies c. 400m to the E of its current location and which appears to have been an early 17th-century fortified house (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 226).
