The National Monuments Service's description

In the Civil Survey (1654-6) decription of 'Ballynaclohy', a settlement associated with Ballinaclogh castle (TS060-040001-) it describes how 'Through this towne runneth the river Multine whereon stands a demolished Mill' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 8). The mill is unlocated within the northern sector of this townland where the Multeen River flows along the townland boundary.
