The National Monuments Service's description
Crossing the River Suir, at a right-angle. Existing circa ten arched bridge of rubble limestone with roughly dressed voussoirs and keystones. Arches are segmental to south and are obscured in places due to vegetation on bank and also extending downstream from each of the piers. Built c. 1600 and possibly partly rebuilt c. 1780 (NIAH). No visible surface trace of an earlier bridge. According to local information, the old routeway to Cashel extended (long-axis N-S) to W of Camus, via Ballynahinch Castle. This was named 'Boher bocht' meaning 'the poor way/road' and the river crossing for this route was formerly c. 1.8km to SSW (ibid). The present road is apparently a modern section of road from Dundrum-Cashel.
