The National Monuments Service's description

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 1640 in 'Coulenagonn' the proprietor is listed as 'Edmond Hogan of Culenagonn Irish Papist' and 'On the sd lands stands an old Stone house wanting repayre' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 43). The house referred to is unlocated within Coolnagun townlands.
