The National Monuments Service's description
In improved pasture, on a SSE-facing slope. Oval area (dims. 34m NE-SW; c. 30m NW-SE) defined by low bank (Wth 5.95m; int. H 0.85m; ext. H 0.9m), fosse (Wth 5.9-7.8m; D 0.57-0.95) and outer bank (Wth 4.75m; int. H 0.57m; ext. H 0.25m). The inner bank survives from N-E, at SSW and WNW-NW and is reduced to a scarp (Wth 3.2m; H 1.2m) in the E-SSW, WSW-WNW and NW-N. The enclosing elements are almost obscured by vegetation from NNE-NW. The fosse is visible from SW-SE and is traceable from SE-SW. The outer bank is best defined from ENE-SE and is levelled but traceable at the NE-ENE and W-WNW. There is a gap (Wth 1.75m and Wth 2.5m) at the NNW and SSW respectively. The interior is ungrazed and has tussocks of grass with briars encroaching from the perimeter, it generally slopes with the natural incline. The monument is within a field named 'Rathnasmoorlane Field' on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map. An earthwork (TS059-106002-) adjoins to the NW.
