The National Monuments Service's description
In level tillage. A circular area (dims. c. 28m N-S; c. 26m E-W) defined by a bank (Wth 7.5m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 1.85m) NW-E and at SW and reduced to scarp (Wth 1m; H 0.4m) E-SE. Elsewhere the perimeter of the is not visible due to the dense growth of briars and whitethorn. There is a possible fosse at the NNW and NNE, but is obscured by dense vegetation and the interior is obscured by nettles. It is named as 'Farranaraheen' on the 1904 edition OS 6-inch map. The field boundary to the W has been removed.
