The National Monuments Service's description

In a former quarry, reinstated as pasture, on a SW-facing slope. It is depicted on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map as a small mound (diam. c. 10m). This possible cairn is not visible at ground level. It was also visible as a small, circular anomaly to the ESE of an enclosure (TS059-025001-) on an aerial photograph (GSI R437/6, 16/04/1974). According to local information, there was a 'fort' in this field which may have been levelled out when the surrounding field boundaries were removed during the 1960s.
