The National Monuments Service's description
On a very slight SW-facing slope in gently undulating improved pasture. Originally circular, the ringfort now consists of a raised roughly D-shaped area (dims. 26m N-S; 20m E-W) defined by a substantial earthen bank (overall Wth 10.5m; Wth at top 3m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 2.3m) with an external fosse (Wth at base 3m; overall Wth 5.1m; D 0.5m). The bank is best preserved SSE-N with the inner side being very low and difficult to discern N-NE. From NE-SE the edge of the ringfort has been cut back and straightened off resulting in the removal of the bank and the infilling of the fosse. A modern N-S orientated modern field boundary lies along the approximate line of the infilled fosse NE-E with a second E-W orientated boundary located 10m to the S of the monument. A break (Wth 4m) in the bank at SSW with a causeway across the fosse marks the position of the original entrance. There is a modern break (Wth 3m) through the bank with a ramp to the interior at N. The interior is level across the N two-thirds while the S one-third slopes gently down to the entrance. The interior is under a loosely spread stand of mature ash and beech trees.
