The National Monuments Service's description

A human skull was discovered during drainage works in October 1978 (NMI files). The skull was apparently found on its own and no other bones or accompanying artefacts were discovered in the vicinity. It has been located to Modeshil near Mullinahone but as it is not clear whether this is Modeshil (Ayre) or Modeshil (Sankey) the burial is unlocated to both these townlands.
