The National Monuments Service's description
In wet poorly drained grassland, situated on SW facing slope of low rise of ground in upland area with good views in all directions. Ringfort consists of a slightly raised irregular-shaped area (dims. 35m N-S; 24m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (top Wth 2.4m; base Wth 4m; int. H 0.1-0.5m; 1-1.5m ext. H) and waterlogged outer fosse (base Wth 2m; top Wth 4-6m; ext. D 0.6m) with possible entrance gap (Wth 2.3m) at E. Bank is well preserved from N through E to S elsewhere it has been reduced to a scarp. A stream runs into the fosse at N and runs around W side of ringfort and exits fosse at S. Three cattle gaps in bank visible at N, NE and SE. Evidence of cattle poaching to external; face of bank at NE and E. Otherwise the ringfort is well preserved. Depicted as a circular enclosure on first ed. OS 6-inch map with stream enclosing W side of monument. At some later stage the W side of the monument was recut and part of the W quadrant of the monument was re-shaped to give it the irregular shape it has today.
