The National Monuments Service's description
In grassland on a SE-facing slope of rising ground in upland area with good views in all directions. Levelled ringfort possible (TS053-039----) 300m to SSW. Impressive ringfort consisting of a circular area (int. diam. 36m N-S; 28m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 1.3m; base Wth 3m; ext. H 1-2.5m; int. H 0.3-0.9m) , fosse (top Wth 5m; base Wth 2.5m; ext. D 1m) and wide flat-topped outer bank (top Wth 3-5m; base Wth 6.5m; ext. H 0.3-0.7m) which is more like a berm rather than a bank with possible entrance gap (Wth 1.5m) at E. The outer bank is more like a landscape feature rather than an archaelogical feature, close proximity of ringfort to Thurlesbeg House immediately to S, monument may have been landscaped by constructing a berm around the monument or by remodelling the outer bank and widening its top to form a berm going around the ringfort. Outer bank and fosse damaged from NE through E to SE, elsewhere it is well preserved. Gap in bank at SSW, possibly just a livestock gap (Wth 2m). Ringfort may have been re-used as a tree-ring by the occupants of Thurlesbeg house in the 19th century. Thurlesbeg House not depicted on the first (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map but is shown on the 2nd (1953-4) ed. OS 6-inch map.
