The National Monuments Service's description

In flat grassland in the village of Boherlahan with good views in all directions, main road connecting Holycross to Cashel intersects the outer fosse of the ringfort at W on a N-S axis. Ringfort consists of a large circular area (int. diam. 64m N-S; 60m E-W) slightly raised enclosed by an earth and stone bank (base Wth 2.5m; top Wth 1.5m; ext. H 1-1.5m; int. H 0.2-0.5m) which has been reduced to a scarp in places and outer fosse (base Wth 2m; top Wth 6m; ext. D 0.4m) with widened entrance gap (Wth 9m) at E and later livestock entrance gap at S (Wth 4m). Fosse intersected by main road at W on a N-S axis and at N by a concrete boundary wall of adjoining village houses. No evidence of an external bank although on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map the monument is indicated as a bivallate ringfort. External face of bank and fosse has been damaged by cattle poaching at SW and by builders debris which has been dumped along the bank and fosse from SE to S. Large single ash tree appears to have been planted in the centre of the ringfort. Houses to N of ringfort located approx. 8m away from fosse of ringfort with boundary wall of house constructed along the base of the ringfort.
