The National Monuments Service's description
On flat grassland with good views in all directions. A limestone upright (dims.0.3m x 0.12m; H 1.18m) orientated on its long axis NE-SW with a tapering tope which slope from NE up to SW, evidence of packing stones around the base of the upright and the stone is set within a hollow which has been caused by cattle erosion. Now used as a cattle scratching post. According to the local landowner this stone was use as a marker to indicated the line of a mass path to a medieval church (TS052-035----) and graveyard (TS052-035001-). One of a group of three standing stones, standing stone (TS052-072----) visible 388m to the NW and standing stone (TS052-050----) visible 370m to the SW.
