The National Monuments Service's description
No surface remains visible of any dwelling pre-1700 in area marked on the OS 6-inch map or in the vicinity of Ballymore castle (TS052-03001-). Described in the Civil Survey (1654-6) as 'one small Pyle or Castle in good repaire with two thatcht houses and tenn Cabbyns' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 94-5). There houses are unlocated within the townland of Ballymore.
