The National Monuments Service's description

At base of E-facing slope of low rising ground in undulating wet reclaimed land with good views in all directions. Natural spring well which appears to have been widened and deepened with no structural remains of any well house or structure covering the well. Depicted on latest ed. OS 6-inch map with small enclosure to E of well, the field banks of which have since been levelled.
