The National Monuments Service's description
Just off top of hill on a N-facing slope, in grassland with panoramic views in all directions in upland area. Field boundaries have been changed and laneway which runs down to coal pit no longer exists. An irregularly shaped mound (dims. 38m NE-SW; c. 20m NW-SE) is indicated on the 1903 ed. OS 6-inch map and the 25-inch map. The monument consists of a low grass-covered amorphous carin (H 0.3m; diam. c. 5m N-S) which is covered in gorse bushes. The cairn has no definable shape or definition.
