The National Monuments Service's description

In undulating grassland, on top of natural rock outcrop on the N-facing slope of the Slieveardagh Hills with panoramic views from W through N to E and higher ground to the S. It is situated on the side of a public road with a tower house (TS048-026001-) 25m to the S and a small quarry immediately to the NE. A small rectangular building (ext. dims. 4.7m N-S; 3.75m E-W) constructed of roughly coursed limestone. The E wall is the most intact (H 1.8m; T 1.3-1.5m), the N wall has been partially rebuilt on a slightly different line. Only the E end of the S wall survives and the W wall does not survive. The appearance of the walling and its association with Mellisson tower house and medieval church (TS048-026002-) suggest a possible medieval date for this building.
