The National Monuments Service's description
On level ground in a ploughed field. Kilcooly Abbey is c. 250m to the NW. There are a number of enclosures in the vicinity including TS043-034009- 104m to the W, TS043-034015- 115m to the NW, TS043-034016- 240m to the ENE and TS043-034017- 192m to the SSE. This circular enclosure was identified on an aerial photograph (CUCAP APD 58, July 1966). The field has been ploughed and left, leaving the surface very disturbed. The enclosure (diam. 29.5m) was difficult to make out but was visible as a circular area defined by a slight scarp (H 0.35m) and indications of an outer fosse where the soil was darker in colour. The enclosure is not depicted on a 1749 map of the estate (Neely 2005 Revised editon, 50).
