The National Monuments Service's description

In old demesne forestry associated with Kilcooly Abbey atop low rise of ground with good views in all directions. A nearby ring-barrow (TS043-022----) is located 160m to the NW. A poorly preserved enclosure which consists of a raised circular area (diam. N-S 28m; E-W 34m) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth. 2.4m; base Wth 5m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1m-2m) intersected at the N by a demesne wall on an E-W axis. The enclosure has been heavily planted with beech trees, with a demesne wall built up against the external face of an enclosing bank along the northern side of the monument. A large deep quarry is located in the NE and S quadrants of the interior, destroying the enclosing bank and part of the interior. Further ground disturbance in the interior has been casued by animal burrows.
