The National Monuments Service's description
This medieval graveslab was mentioned by O'Donovan as a tombstone in the chancel of Fennor church (TS43-003003-) with a latin inscription around its edges (O'Flanagan 1930, vol. 1 160). It is described by Healy (1874, 47-9) as 'a monumental slab six and a half feet long [2m] and two feet wide [0.75 m], with a beautiful floriated cross upon it, accompanied by the following inscription, all in relief: Hic jacet honorabil. ac discret, Th Ulawnaim Cleric Casselln dioc ac quonda magist. Cathei Ulawnaim .. oc Casselln official, gnal ac pbedarii deffuncti filii crum uxore legittia cius Anastasia . os quondam baronis filia. On the base of the cross the date m.ccccxxxx'. The graveslab could not be located at time of inspection.
