The National Monuments Service's description

Unlocated dwelling within townland, dwelling referred to in the Civil Survey (1654-6) (Simington 1931, Vol. 1, 65). A photostat reproduction of 'Part of the Barony of Kilnemana in the County of Tipperary sett out to Major Bolton's troope in col. Pretty Regmt in y' yeare 1656' [N.L.I. 16.I.17 (13)] depicts a building which appears be a house, though it may be a castle. This house is unlocated within Ballycamusk townland.
