The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the SW-facing slope of a gentle undulating rise, in pasture. Indicated on the 1952-3 ed. OS 6-inch map as a large, rougly circular enclosure which appears to have been bivallate. The site is completely levelled with a large silage pit and sheds now occupying the area. The sheds were built c. 10 years ago according to the local farmer. Site not visible at ground level.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
