The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a natural rise sloping to the NE, in undulating pasture. Depicted as an irregular outline with internal tree plantation on the 1st ed. (1843) OS 6-inch map and as an irregular enclosure on the current (1953-4) ed. The relatively flat summit of this natural rise (diam. 33m N-S; 34m E-W) provides a good ringfort location, but there is no visible trace of the site above ground.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
