The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a SE-facing slope in undulating terrain in pasture. A roughly circular area (diam. 34.5m E-W; N-S) enclosed by a clay and gravel bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.63m; ext. H 1.22m), a fosse (Wth 2.7m; D 0.63m) and an outer bank (Wth 1.3m; ext. H 0.5m). A gap has been broken through the bank in the SE quadrant. The interior slopes slightly to the SE and was nettle-filled at the time of inspection. Some large stones protrude from the external face of the inner bank which is quite steep in profile. A road extending NE-SW along the NW side of the site has damaged the bank.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
