The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a S-facing slope in undulating pastureland. A circular area (diam. 34.4m) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.63m; ext. H 0.7m), a wide flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 5m; D 0.75m) and an outer bank (Wth 3.1m; ext. H 0.68m) which has been levelled at SW. There is evidence of internal stone revetment on the outer bank which has quite a lot of stone in its composition and there is a gap (Wth 5m) through the inner and outer bank in the E quadrant. The site is very overgrown.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
