The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a small hillock in low-lying reclaimed land which is liable to flooding. Depicted as a large circular enclosure (diam. c. 48m) on the 1840 and 1953 eds. of the OS 6-inch map with a field boundary skirting the N sector. The site was levelled during the 1960s and 70s and the defences including scrub have been pushed into a mound in the former N sector of the site.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
