The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a S-facing slope in gently undulating pastureland. Although the site has been levelled it is still clearly visible as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. 32m N-S; 32m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.88m). A suggestion of a fosse (Wth 6.5m; D 0.4m) occurs along E and S and at S a low outer bank (Wth 3.2m; ext. H 0.3m) is evident. The interior is quite undulating. The site was identified on an aerial photograph taken in June 1973 (GSIAP, S 463/2) and there is no local tradition of it being a fort.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
