A circular area (diam.19m N-S; 26m E-W) enclosed by two earth and stone banks with intervening fosse (Wth 3.5m; D 1m) and entrance gap (Wth 2.2m) at S. The inner bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 0.5-1.5m) is intersected by a field fence at N on an E-W axis destroying the fosse and outer bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 0.5m) which is only visible at W. The intervening fosse is visible only from S to W and is destroyed elsewhere.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
