The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on flat bogland with a nearby causeway (TN036-050056) to the N. The site was traced for 160m in length and consisted of longitudinal split planks (avg. dims. L 2.36-2.62m; Wth 0.19-0.28m) secured in places by upright pegs, resting on transverse timbers creating a narrow single file pedestrian route across the wetland. The western, central and eastern sections of the togher were excavated (Murray 1999, Cooleeny 22, 24-5). Dendro-dated to 1526-1508 BC (Ó Néill 2000, 185).
