The National Monuments Service's description
Situated at the base of the N-facing slope of a low glacial knoll in undulating countryside. The site was revealed during topsoil stripping and consisted of a subcircular trough (dims. 1.94m E-W x 1.76m N-S; D 0.5m) back-filled with fire-cracked stone and charcoal which was partly sealed by a truncated horseshoe-shaped spread (dims. 9.5m x 8m x 0.13m) of burnt sandstone, silt and charcoal. (Stevens 2000, 198)
