Graveslab

Situated on an E-facing slope with a ringwork (TN035-030001) to the W and a towerhouse (TN035-030005) to the E in undulating countryside. Listed in the ecclesiastical taxation of the Diocese of Cashel in 1302 (CDI, vol. 5, 283). The ivy covered remains of a nave and chancel church (TN035-030002) with a barrel-vaulted tower built onto the E end of the chancel. There are two seventeenth-century graveslabs (TN035-03008/009) dating to 1643 and 1644 and decorated with fleur-de-lis symbols on the floor of the chancel. Alongside these there are five more late medieval graveslabs in the chancel (TN035-03009-014) and an open stone sarcophagus (TN035-03016). There is a single late medieval graveslab (TN035-03015) in the SE angle of the nave near the chancel arch. The graveyard (TN035-030007) contains eighteenth and nineteenth-century headstones with a water spout, possibly from the tower, inserted into the surface of the graveyard in the W sector.
Rectangular slab (L 1.72m ; Wth 0.58m x T 0.13m) located in the east end of the chancel just S of the entrance to the vaulted building and s of the open stone sarcophagus (TN035-030016), decorated with a seven-armed segmental cross carved in low relief with an incised outlined shaft and pillar-base all of which is contained within a single groove running along the edge and base of the slab (Maher 1997, 66)
