The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the E-facing slope of a low N-S ridge in undulating countryside. A raised circular platform (diam. 30m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 1-1.7m) with traces of an outer fosse (Wth 3.3m; D 0.5m) visible at S only with a possible destroyed entrance gap (Wth 2m) at E. Good evidence of external stone-facing of the scarp survives at E beside the destroyed entrance feature. A field fence intersects the site at W on a N-S axis.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
