The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a break in a gentle SE-facing slope at the base of a hill. A circular area (diam. 34.7m N-S; 35m E-W) defined by a low bank of gravelly clay (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.75m) and an external fosse (Wth 2.6m; D 0.67m). The bank is quite eroded in places and is reduced to a scarp, particularly at E where the site is foreshortened by c. 1m by a post and wire fence. No obvious entrance feature visible. The fosse along the W side has been recently recut for drainage and a shed and silage pit have been built immediately E of the ringfort.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
