The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a level tract of ground at the base of Foilduff on the N side. A stone orientated E-W, rising slightly to the W, rectangular in plan (H 1.05m; max. dims. 0.53m x 0.3m). The W face has been split. The N and S faces are flat and the E face tapers towards the top. There is a slight hollow around the base of the standing stone caused by cattle erosion.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
