The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a hillock in an upland area. The barely discernible outline of a possible bank at W is all that survives of this earthwork marked on the OS 6-inch map. Depicted as a rectangular grove of trees on the 1st ed. (1840) OS 6-inch map and not as an antiquity. Possibly a landscape feature associated with nearby Annaholty House.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
