The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a low natural ridge of ground in undulating countryside. A well-preserved ringfort consisting of a circular area (diam. 27m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone flat-topped bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.5-0.8m; ext. H 1-1.7m) and a wide outer fosse (Wth 3.5m; D 1m) with a causewayed entrance (Wth 4m) at N. A modern causewayed entrance (Wth 4m) is positioned at S (Stout 1984, 36-7).
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
