The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a high E-W ridge, sloping slightly to the SE, in pastureland. Depicted as an oval enclosure on the 1st ed. (1843) OS 6-inch map with a field boundary transecting the W portion. Not indicated on the 1904 ed. suggesting it was levelled in the latter half of the nineteenth century. Not visible at ground level.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
