The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a steep SE-facing slope in pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure on both the 1st and 2nd ed. OS 6-inch maps. Although levelled a circular area (diam. c. 22m) is visible defined by the curving remains of a broad, flattened bank. A shallow dip (Wth c. 3.5m) in the NE and SE quadrants suggests a possible fosse. The interior slopes steeply to the SE. The site was inspected in 1957 (OPW files) and described as a 'low platform defined by a very slight fosse (almost effaced)'. An accompanying plan depicts a bank at SE (Wth 6ft (1.8m); H above interior 1ft6in (0.45m); H above exterior 2ft6in (0.75m)) and gives an overall diameter of 27m.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
