The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the steep NW-facing slope of a hill, in pasture. A circular area (diam. 32.5m N-S; 30.5m E-W) defined by a bank (Wth 6.3m; int. H 2.83m; ext. H 1.24m), a fosse (Wth 3.9m; D 0.93m), a berm (Wth 7.1m), an outer bank (Wth 3.7m; int. H 1.52m; ext. H 1.3m) and an external fosse (Wth 7m; D 1.71m). Modern interference includes a trackway through the internal SE quadrant on a NE-SW axis, the inner bank forming the SE side of the track. The interior slopes gradually to the NW. In the upslope SE quadrant the outer bank appears to have slipped internally forming a 'berm' between the outer bank and a narrow fosse outside the inner bank. At W only one bank (Wth 2.3m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 7.13m) survives. The external fosse is most clearly evident in the SE quadrant. Possible original entrance at NE.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
