The National Monuments Service's description

This tomb, extant in 1972 when the published plan was made (De Valera and Ó Nualláin 1982), has since been removed. Some of the large stones lying in a nearby fence may have formed part of the structure. It stood on rolling farmland south of the Silvermine Mountains. In 1969, when the site first came to notice, a gallery about 6m long could be distinguished in heavy growth. In 1972 much of the gallery lay concealed under large stones cleared from the surrounding land and only the south-western end represented by a septal-stone and the first sidestone on either side of the main chamber were then apparent. (De Valera and Ó Nualláin 1982, 81-2, No.2)

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
