The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a natural hillock on a N-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area with a nearby enclosure (TN025-082) to the N. A natural hillock (diam. 42m NW-SE) scarped at its base by a wide, poorly preserved fosse (Wth 5m; int. D 1-2m; ext. D 0.4m) with slight traces of an outer bank. The clear outline of the enclosure with fosse and bank is visible on an aerial photograph (R 112/3). The site has probably been degraded by recent land improvement schemes.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
