The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on high ground in an upland area. An irregular-shaped earthwork covered in dense scrub and partially destroyed by ridges from recent forest plantation. No archaeological features visible. Depicted as a roughly D-shaped platform type earthwork on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map and as a D-shaped enclosure on the revised 1901 ed. OS 25-inch map.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
