The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on high ground on a break in a SE-facing slope overlooking a broad plain. Depicted as a circular platform-type earthwork on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map but not indicated on the revised 1901 ed. OS 25-inch map which implies that the site was levelled between 1840 and 1901. Not visible at ground level. A field boundary immediately S of the site has been removed recently.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
