The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a SW-facing slope in rolling pastureland. A circular area (diam. 37.4m N-S; 39.5m E-W) defined by a bank of earth and stone (Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.27m; ext. H 1.57m). No external fosse visible at ground level and no visible entrance feature. The bank is quite denuded in places and was destroyed at N, possibly to build the haggard immediately N of the site. The interior slopes to the SSW.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
