The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a SW-facing slope, just off the crest of a ridge in undulating terrain, under tillage. Depicted on the 1843 ed. OS 6-inch map as roughly square area with trees and hachured on the 1954-5 revision. Although levelled the complete circuit (diam. 29.3m) is visible as a cropmark, with the remains of the bank visible in the S half. Described in 1964 as a 'small slightly raised sub-rectangular plot of ground, apparently an old covert or tree-ring..[with] slight bank' (OPW file 1964).
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
