The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a slight rise of ground in undulating countryside. In 1617 the 'manor, castle and town and lands of Lissenuskie were granted to William O'Meara (Cal. pat. Rolls, Ire., Jas I, 303). He was also granted a licence to hold a fair on St Francis's day and the day after unless that day should fall on Saturday or Sunday (ibid.). No earthworks visible at ground level around Lissanisky castle (TN021-039001).
