The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a NE-SW ridge in an upland area. A circular area (diam. 28.5m NW-SE) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.5m) with a possible entrance at SE. No visible trace of a fosse.
In 2002 archaeological monitoring by Brian Hodkinson on a residential development site in the vicinity of the ringfort, revealed no archaeological features or deposits of archaeological significance. This monitoring was carried out under Licence No. 02E0035 (Bennett 2004, 478).
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
