The National Monuments Service's description

Seventeenth-century mill indicated on the Down Survey (1655-6) map of the Manor of Nenagh (Gleeson, 1936, 262) and indicated as 'The Manor Mill', in roughly the location of the mill on the 2nd ed. OS 6-inch map which is depicted as 'Nenagh Mill (Corn)'. Field inspection established that there is no evidence of any mill pre-1700 in area marked on 1st and 2nd ed. OS 6-inch map. Modern factory located in area marked on 6" OS 6-inch map. Mill remains unlocated within the townland.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
