The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a fairly steep NW-facing slope in undulating terrain overlooking a boggy valley, in an area of pastureland. A roadway runs adjacent to the SE wall of the graveyard. A roughly D-shaped graveyard (36m N-S; 45m E-W) enclosed by a stone wall. Nineteenth- and twentieth-century headstones and a number of uninscribed small grave-markers are visible. In the OS Letters the burial ground is called 'Boggaun' (O'Flanagan 1930, vol. 2, 82).

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
