The National Monuments Service's description

Situated towards the base of a SW-facing slope in very undulating terrain, under tillage. A roughly circular site (diam. 30m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth c. 3m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.67m) and fosse (Wth 3.6m). There is a possible causewayed entrance (Wth 3.6m) at S and the fosse is not evident in this sector. The site is quite overgrown around the edges and scrub encroaches on the interior which slopes markedly to the SW. A stone wall runs concentric to the N half of the site.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
